Geoff & Bev  Buckley  moved from Sydney to Mt.Tamborine in 1995; from city to country, from business to farming. Geoff knew nothing about farming or gardening and made every mistake in the book.

But eventually we both made a study of organic farming practices - permaculture,  and biological farming. Now Geoff & Bev have a Diploma In Horticulture and  grow and sell 60 different crops organically. In 2007 they won the Small Business Champion Award for fresh food in Queensland; in 2008 they were one of four finalists in the Australian Vegetable Grower of the Year Awards.

They started a weekly  local farmers’ market on Tamborine Mountain in 2001. The market is known locally as the Green Shed. There is now a website called www.greenshed.com.au  with a forum where people can ask questions and you can subscribe to a free monthly newsletter written by Bev. To get more organic suppliers to the Green Shed they offered to teach people how to grow their own food organically by putting a tiny advertisement in the local paper. Much to their astonishment they received 60 replies!

Now training is becoming an increasing part of Geoff & Bev’s activity and their face to face training program is called “Growing Healthy”.

Their business is now called “Growing Healthy” and Geoff has recently  written a book called “Growing Healthy” as a textbook for the course and to also provide a step by step plan on how to generate $200,000 p.a. on five acres growing fruit & vegetables organically or $40,000 p.a. on one acre.
